Description

The Countess Markievics Memorial Lecture has been established by the Irish Association for Industrial Relations with the support of the Department of Labour. Countess Markievics was first Minister for Labour of the newly-independent Irish State. Th object of the memorial Lecture is to provide an occasion for a substantive contribution to discussion in the industrial relations area by a distinguished practitioner or academic. The Second Lecture was given by Professor George F. Thomason on November 28th, 1977, at the Royal Hibernian Hotel, Dublin.
